This very fine kris was collected by Major Theodore Bitterman, who served with the U.S. Army Medical Corps on Mindanao in the early 1900s. It is one of almost 250 objects, mostly weapons, collected by Major Bitterman and donated to the Museum by his sister, Hattie Hirshfield, in 1942.
