Scope and Content Note
Found here are several manuscripts
written by George Langford regarding numerous sites found at the confluence of
the Kankakee and Des Plaines Rivers in Northeastern Illinois. At least one of
the manuscripts included was written at the request of Dr. Clark Wissler for
possible publication in American Anthropologist
. The collections
from these sites, considered some of the oldest in the region, were given to
the American Museum.
